Since the last Sunday of December is Christmas, we will have our “December” pack hike on New Year’s Day, Sunday January 1^st at 1pm on the Northwest Branch Trail.  This year we will hike SOUTH along the EAST bank of the NW Branch Trail.  Here is a map with our proposed route: https://www.alltrails.com/explore/trail/us/maryland/fall-line-rachel-carson-greenway-and-northwest-branch-trail.

The parking lot is near the trailhead, just off of Route 29 on the EAST side, just south of the shopping center with Trader Joe’s.  This is the side opposite the waterfall.

We will hike between 3 and 4 miles total, out-and-back.  This hike has some elevation change and a number of larger rocks to navigate.

Dogs are allowed on the trail.

Leave no trace
Stay on the path
Do not run, be careful with leaves on the ground
Wear appropriate footwear and be prepared for any weather
Bring water and a snack.
