Our May hike will take place on Sunday, May 22 at 2 p.m. at Lake Needwood in Rock Creek Regional Park. We will meet in the field next to the left of the parking lot (see below for more details and a map for the parking lot).  

 

The route will follow a roughly 3-mile loop around the lake. A map of the route is attached.

 

If your scout does this hike during the month of May outside of the pack hike on May 22 please let us know by the end of the month so we can give them credit. 

 

Parking: There is ample parking at a lot near the start of our hike. The parking lot is located at the terminus of the hiker/biker trail just past a parking area for the boat house and pavilion: https://tinyurl.com/389a82zk

 

 

Note on Summer Hiking: As mentioned at the Blue and Gold Banquet, we will have one group hike the evening of Saturday, July 23 around the monuments in Washington, DC. Scouts will also be able to accumulate up to four miles per month on their own for June and July. Our first hike for the next school year will be in late August at Wheaton Regional Park.
